Davis received a Bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland – Baltimore County in Psychology and Philosophy. During this coursework, Davis found that psychology and philosophy, particularly metaphysics and philosophy of mind, paired perfectly with his psychological studies. This dynamic duo helped to formulate an intense curiosity of the psyche which continues to fuel his passion for psychotherapy to this day. After graduating from UMBC, he began work at an outpatient day program designing and conducting group therapy and community activities. The program served individuals ranging in age from 18-80 and diagnoses including everything from mild life transitions to severe and persistent mental health issues, which gave him a solid sample size to work out what working in psychology really entails. After working with the program for a couple years, Davis moved back to his native state of CO and began his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University. Here, while taking courses in the Depth Psychotherapy Certificate, he was introduced to the work of Carl Jung, the importance of the unconscious, and dream analysis, which is a significant influence in his current approach to therapy. While completing his Master’s degree, Davis was employed at an inpatient psychiatric hospital working primarily on the intensive treatment unit for over 4 years. After obtaining his MA, Davis began working towards accruing his post-graduate hours for licensure by working with a variety of agencies in the Denver Metro area and has spent some time in private practice.
