Hi! I’m Erin Rubenking, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in Colorado. I’ve spent the last decade+ working with elite & high performers on their mental health so that they can perform in all aspects of their lives. I started my career working in an inpatient eating disorder facility where athletes often struggled unraveling their eating disorders from their sport and performance. This sparked my passion for helping individuals recover in a way that allows them to continue sport participation while also promoting their recovery.
I moved into working with professionals of all kinds (athletes, surgeons, pilots, etc.) who were struggling with substance use disorders. It made me realize the similarities of the addict brain and those of high performers (often pushing to the extremes in healthy or less than healthy ways).
In 2018, I joined the CU Athletic Department where I worked with student-athletes on their mental health and performance. Over the next 6.5 years, I helped build the program from one mental health provider to an entire team of providers, eventually overseeing the Psychological Health & Performance Department in it’s dedication to serving and promoting student-athlete mental health.
While I absolutely loved working with the student-athletes in that setting, I decided to step away from that role in order to spend more time with my family while still being able to provide care to individuals.
Nourish Therapy, PLLC was created with the intention to help individuals – athletes, high achievers, professionals, students, etc. – navigate their mental health and thrive in all aspects of their lives. I hope this is a place where you can be yourself as you find your inner strength to heal from life’s challenges!
