My name is Katy Berger, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and School Counselor. I have worked with individuals, adolescents, couples and families seeking counseling for over 6 years. I believe my role as a licensed professional counselor is to provide a safe space to process feelings/emotions, gain insight into behavioral patterns, and develop coping strategies and increased self-awareness. I believe it is important to work collaboratively to identify therapy goals and to determine the techniques and strategies that will work best for the client to find improved wellbeing, personal growth, and to live a more meaningful life.
I believe in a blended, holistic approach that includes education and knowledge about the brain and body. I utilize a blend of many different therapeutic modalities, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Attachment Based Therapy. My other areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, and trauma. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, same-sex couples, and families.
I am originally from Buffalo, New York and love being outside in nature. I love traveling, hiking, skiing, cooking, and enjoy finding more opportunities for mindfulness and personal growth in my own life.
