My name is Madelyn and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) offering online counseling services in Colorado. With five years of experience as a medical social worker in a pediatric clinic for children with chronic conditions and disabilities, I’ve gained invaluable insights into the unique challenges faced by families caring for loved ones with special health care needs. I understand the long-term impact these challenges can have on daily functioning and emotional well-being.
Inspired by my work, I decided to transition from healthcare to private practice to better support siblings and caregivers process complex emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and find meaning amidst hardship. In addition to supporting family members, I am eager to support individuals living with chronic conditions and chronic pain. While much of my experience is rooted in the medical field, I also provide therapy to individuals facing a wide range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship and family conflict, and burnout. My clinical practice is inclusive, offering support to anyone seeking help, whether or not they are impacted by chronic illness or disability.
In my practice, my goal is to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment so that you can show up as your most authentic self. I approach my work with an open mind, an open heart, and a sense of humor. I am a firm believer that laughter is food for the soul and we could all use more of it!
Additionally, I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. Your willingness to engage in the challenging yet rewarding work is essential for therapy to be successful. Your commitment will be met with equal engagement, compassion, and genuine curiosity. As your therapist, my role is not to “fix” you, but to guide you through a journey of deep introspection. We’ve all heard the phrase “every rose has its thorn.” Together, we will explore ways to embrace your thorns by bringing attention to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping to change unwanted habits and patterns, address unresolved trauma, and forge a new path forward.
