Marie Yarrington (she/her), is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and has been working in the mental health field for the past 6+ years. Marie has various experience, working with children and families, particularly adoptive and foster parents. Marie’s passion for working with adoptive and foster parents comes from personal experience of the foster and adoptive world.
Marie’s recent passion for working with the perinatal population comes from her own experience of enduring a high-risk, twin pregnancy which resulted in a prolonged hospital stay for herself and a NICU stay for her daughters. In February 2024, Marie will be Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.
Marie uses strengths-based and solution-focused therapeutic techniques, with an attachment-based lense. She strives to make the therapeutic experience feel open, safe, warm and inviting, where clients can show up and feel they are seen and heard, exactly as they are and meet them where they are at.
