I am a licensed clinical social worker in the Denver Metro Area. I am a graduate of Smith School for Social Work where I was trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I have experience working in a variety of settings including school, in home, in office, and virtual. I have worked in community mental health for the majority of my career, aiming to ease access to mental health services. I specialize in supporting adults, families, and parents on their journey to enhance emotional well-being. My focus is on fostering self-awareness, dismantling maladaptive patterns, and cultivating fulfillment in relationships. I am EMDR trained, CAMS trained, and have taken specialized courses in TF-CBT. I can adapt EMDR depending on your tolerance, goals, and symptoms. I am familiar with using various approaches to EMDR including a comprehensive approach (processing through your trauma), a symptom focused approach (focusing on present day concerns), a generational approach (working through generational trauma), a preverbal approach (addressing in-utero/preverbal memories), and a substance use approach (reducing positive benefits from substance use.) I am familiar with using EMD and EMDr approaches when needed.
I work from a relational approach aiming to foster and build alliance in our therapeutic rapport. I will utilize mechanisms like humor, connection, and preferred activities, to build creative interventions to stimulate progress. I utilize a psychodynamic approach as a foundation for our work together. While this is the premise of cultivating our relationship, I will adapt interventions to meet your specific goals.
I believe that every human has the capacity for change; that each one of us is capable of creating our own version of self-actualization. I hold the premise that you are the expert of your own life and our work is an effort to regain control of the trajectory of your journey.
