My style is empowering, solution-focused, down-to-earth, non-judgmental, and humorous. I am active in session. You can expect me to help guide conversations, provide reflections, and teach coping skills. As a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Specialist, I incorporate this evidence-based model into my practice. CBT helps us become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, motives, and behaviors. Therapy helps us understand our “stories”; the experiences that shaped us, the defenses that have helped protect us, and the patterns or habits that may be preventing us from living a satisfying life.
I have been in practice for 15 years working with adults, couples, adolescents, and children facing a variety of issues including stress, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Panic Disorder, depression, relationship issues, gender transition, and phase of life issues. My clients come from diverse cultural backgrounds and gender identities. I believe strongly in fostering a therapeutic relationship where my clients can openly discuss ways their unique backgrounds impact their experience in the world.
In addition to having a broad range of experience, I have a specializations in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD, OCD, and eating disorders, having received post-graduate training at Stanford University. As an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider, I provide adult ADHD evaluations in addition to therapy.
