Transitions are a part of life. Sometimes they are a breeze and sometimes the can be complex and overwhelming. A loss, a move, retirement or divorce are just a few transitions that can challenge our coping skills. Therapy can help you build new and more effective skills that bringing relief from stress, depression and feeling overwhelmed. When we look at patterns of behaviors, and thoughts that are not helpful, or boundaries that are draining, we have a deeper understanding of our self that leads to feeling good, confident and valued. This is an interactive and dynamic process.
Drawing on eastern and western psychology, we will work together to develop the tools and inner resources to achieve your life goals including learning self compassion, and developing awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors – through traditional talk therapy, meditation, creating art, and journaling.
My life has been rich with unexpected life events, losses, and health challenges. Through solo travel, outdoor adventure and accepting life, I have found confidence, self compassion and a meaning. Mindfulness training, graduate school and curiosity, have taught me what is helpful. I would be honored to assist you in your journey.
