B Palm, LCSW

We are all complex people with complex lives, navigating a complex world that wasn’t built to nurture our complexity. We all need somebody who can see us in full, warts and all, and accept us with compassion and kindness. I have been helping people discover their place in the world for over 12 years. During that time, I have connected with people from all walks of life, with different strengths and struggles. Let me put my years of knowledge and experience to work for you!

I often use the words “humanistic” and “eclectic” to describe my approach to therapy. I am a humanistic practitioner because I believe healthy relationships are perhaps the most important part of a healthy life, and just one affirming relationship can transform our lives for the better. Many people I’ve helped report that the primary benefit they receive from therapy is having someone who will not only listen to them, but feel with them. To know that there is a fellow human out there who will not judge you, who will accept you in all your flaws and eccentricities, who will advocate for you in your times of need and celebrate your accomplishments with you…it is a transformative experience! It creates a template to build other emotionally fulfilling relationships.

I am an eclectic practitioner because I draw from many different approaches to therapy. I’m well-versed in analyzing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors from a traditional CBT perspective, while also drawing in mindfulness practices, movement, music, and so much more! I believe that by exploring different ways of understanding your unique mind, we can find something that clicks for you. We could listen to music together and analyze lyrics; we could draw a tarot card and interpret it together; we could create a custom mantra or movement regimen; we could create a timeline or a work of art, a story or a script! To borrow a phrase: “If it doesn’t harm you, we can do it!”

I specialize in helping LGBTQ+ people, as well as adolescents and young adults. If you are transgender and are looking for gender affirming care, look no further! However, even if you don’t fall into those categories, consider dropping me a line anyway. Chances are, I’ve experienced working with people who have similar histories and identities. I will always offer a free consultation so we can get to know one another before you make any commitments to working together. And if you decide not to work with me, I can steer you in the right direction.

Please reach out if you have any questions! And good luck on your journey 🙂
