Growing up in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere is never easy. It’s even harder when you’re clearly different from the others. It’s not okay to have others dismiss your identities simply to fit you in a box. I became a counselor to help others make sure they had the tools to integrate all aspects of their identity into themselves. You deserve to be heard as your full self, not just the parts of you others deem “normal”. I became a counselor to help everyone, and part of my belief is that you deserve to have yourself known.
Life is challenging, and so often the strategies we use to handle those challenges can backfire, leaving us feeling stranded and confused about our next steps. Together, we will work towards clarity, comfort in who you are, and new solutions. I pride myself in providing a culturally-sensitive therapy experience full of curiosity, collaboration, and empowerment. We will build a space together where you feel safe and healing is possible. I will support you in taking charge of your life and solving problems with a new, invigorated resolve. You are the expert of your life, and we will draw upon your identity, your relationships, your emotions, and your unique strengths and gifts. You will leave with a new understanding of yourself and confidence in who you are.
In my free time, I like playing video games, media analysis, and painting. I am originally from West Virginia and enjoy spending time with my wife and cats.
