I’m Chantry, I’m an LPC based in Colorado Springs. I have focused on treating trauma/PTSD and the frequently co-occuring disorders that often present alongside traumatic experiences, such as anxiety, self-esteem, and attachment. I work from a foundation based in Narrative therapy. This orientation believes that the way we talk about ourselves and the things that have happened in our lives impacts the way we live, and that by changing how we look at our stories, we can work to take back control and power. I implement CBT, DBT, and EMDR interventions to help work through traumatic experiences and manage stress and anxiety.
I work to make therapy as non-threatening as possible since seeking out help can be hard enough. The best therapy happens when the clinician and client trust one another. I fully believe that there is room for humor in healing and that, though they call it “work” for a reason, therapy can be kind of fun sometimes, too. I really enjoy the process of customizing my approach to each client’s needs. Some clients need a space to talk and occasionally be guided; others need a very directive approach that is more focused and intentional; some clients even like being given homework between sessions.
If I sound like someone you might be comfortable working with, please reach out! I would be happy to discuss your needs and assess if we might be a good therapeutic fit.
