For as long as he can remember, Erik has loved hearing and helping to tell stories, as he believes they are the key to appreciating the vast depth of our beautifully imperfect individuality. To continue this passion, Erik acquired his bachelor’s degree in visual and performing arts with an emphasis in theatre and music performance. He has worked in professional performance for over 10 years and is passionate about helping others to tell their stories. Erik felt compelled to join the counseling profession because he felt called to help others appreciate their inherent worth and individuality through utilizing a lens of empathy, compassion, and understanding. It is his goal to help you feel enveloped in empathy in order to feel heard, valued, and safe to express yourself and your feelings. Erik is particularly interested in working with individuals of all ages, performers, and those who contend with chronic pain, as well as those with anxiety, depression and experiencing life transitions. Erik believes that his familiarity and life experiences in these areas combined with his passion for the art of self-expression uniquely qualifies him to help provide a safe space that will help you appreciate the value and potential of the person you are as you work toward achieving your goals and overcoming your obstacles.
When Erik is not counseling or performing onstage, some of his other passions include singing and playing guitar with family and friends, rolling dice in Dungeons & Dragons, playing video games, and teaching.
Erik appreciates you taking the steps toward your therapy journey, and is eager to help you tell your story in any way he can.
