Hello! My name is Kevin Barr. I’ve been practicing therapy for 11 years. I have an MA in Counseling Psychology and a BA in Psychology/Minor in music. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy (SFBT). I have experience treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorders, interpersonal conflict, dual diagnoses, and LGBTQ+ issues, among others.
My overall intention is to help you identify your values and assist you in aligning these values with your behaviors. I believe the past influences the present whether you like it or not, so insight into your past equates to self-awareness in the present. I believe that analysis and insight are crucial. I also believe that sometimes simply changing one small thing because it’s not serving you anymore can be just as powerful.
I am not a coddler but I am not cold. I am straight up but I am loaded with empathy and compassion. I try not to take myself too seriously. I’m a flawed human before anything else. I love what I do, I excel at what I do and I look forward to meeting you!
