Missy works with teens, adults, couples and families; and also specializes in issues related to the LGBTQ community, multicultural identity, and athlete/musician performance. She works from an existential and attachment based model, is passionate about developing resilience, finding your OWN definition of substance use recovery, having reparative experiences and relationships, finding meaning in trauma, and working through anger. She is a believer that family/couples conflict is solved by everyone being willing to take ownership of their part. She can also be hired as a Child and Family Investigator for those families going through a complicated divorce (or separation) process.
She offers an alternative experience that is casual, organic, “real,” and uses humor when possible. She values a collaborative approach to therapy where we can discuss ideas that are meaningful to YOU. She emphasizes the importance of holistic living, passion, and purpose; as these things can significantly impact mental health.
Life continuously brings about many different challenges and changes. While this is part of the beauty of life and relationships, we may often find ourselves at a point of feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and repeating patterns that don’t serve us. This is why it can help to have a neutral safe environment to explore how we want to grow and move forward!
