Finding the right therapist can be a process. Sometimes you have to explore a bit to find the right fit, and a list of acronyms and therapeutic interventions doesn’t always provide the information people are seeking when they are trying to access support. Whether you’re looking for services for yourself or a loved one, my hope is to make your process a little easier by sharing clear information about how I practice.
I’m a native New Yorker turned Rocky Mountain lover, and I love being a therapist. I consider this profession a privilege and a calling, and I often wonder what the world would be like if everyone could experience the transformative power of a strong therapeutic experience. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor specializing in relationship issues, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and recovery maintenance. I combine traditional talk therapy with somatic interventions, EMDR, creative modalities, spiritual exploration, and humor — because it’s good for us and it’s fun! I’ve spent the last decade crafting my clinical style at residential and outpatient behavioral health settings in New York and Colorado, and I practice from a direct, trauma-informed perspective. I believe in balancing accountability and compassion in therapy, because everyone deserves to feel understood, supported and perhaps challenged (with love).
Like personal identity, therapy is best not one-size-fit-all. I practice from an eclectic perspective, combining healing wisdom from different cultures with formal therapeutic modalities. I understand the utility of creative expression in therapy, and will incorporate creative modalities and writing in sessions to help my clients explore in whatever way feels most accessible. My goal is to empower clients with information relevant to what brought them to therapy. Whether you’re seeking support with relapse prevention or learning about how to soothe trauma responses, my practice and clinical style is grounded in expression, validation, and transformation.
Clients I have worked with in the past describe me as an honest, authentic practitioner who validates their perspective and helps them step into a place of ownership surrounding their lived experience. Life can feel messy, lonely, and unstable sometimes. It can also be beautiful and transformational. Establishing a place in your week that is solely for you to talk about how things feel and what you want to do about it can help tremendously, and it’s something we all deserve to experience. Let’s talk.
