Natalie uses an intersectional approach and believes that trauma occurs within the personal and social context of the person and their intersecting identities, such as race, gender, and sexual orientation. Natalie is passionate about supporting her clients through using Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy aims to encourage present-moment contact and awareness of feelings and experiences rather than avoidance and distraction. Natalie uses mindfulness and experiential techniques to encourage awareness and regulation of the nervous system. She believes in fostering a collaborative working relationship with her clients that is centered on vulnerability, curiosity, and trust.
