Seeking help takes courage and you have taken the first step in finding the support you need. Early childhood experiences and ongoing life stressors can lead to feelings of overwhelm, stress, confusion, and difficulty managing emotions. Children and teens often struggle with managing the pressures and stress of today’s world. Parents can find themselves wondering why the parenting they are providing to their children isn’t working, or they ask why parenting the way they themselves were parented is not effective. All of these challenges and questions can lead to family members longing for improved connected relationships with one another and happier life experiences together. I can help you and/or your family members gain life skills, relationship skills, and strategies for dealing with life’s stress. l view the process of counseling as a journey of self-exploration by the client, meant to increase their level of self-understanding and self-awareness. My role as a counselor is to act as a guide or facilitator on this journey.
I primarily work with both children/adolescent and adult clients who have anxiety, PTSD, depression, and behavioral challenges. I use trauma informed approaches, relationship building skills, cognitive behavioral strategies, parenting strategies, and exploring the root issues to help guide you to a new place of understanding, growth, and empowerment in your life. I will work to establish trust, care, and support in our working relationship. It is my priority to create a safe space during our time together so that we can gently explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will focus on your goals and seek to find long-term solutions.
