Shelly King, LPC

We’re each a beautifully complex story. How can I help with yours?

Hi! I’m Shelly King, MA, LPC. I’m so glad you’re here.

I work with adult individuals who are looking to explore themselves and their relationships. I focus on individual therapy; relationship dynamics; pregnancy and postpartum support, while specializing in babyloss (miscarriage, termination, stillbirth and newborn loss); and spiritual, energetic, intuitive support.

My intention for therapy together is threefold – to work with all clients with presence, attunement and curiosity. These three experiences combined help to create a deep sense of safety. From that space – when we feel seen, heard, soothed and secure – new ways of being can emerge. Together we will create a nourishing container to invite a new way to be with yourself. A space for you to learn how to allow, surrender, and accept. You might feel broken open, but we will find tools that work for you to feel resourced in the transformation.

There is a balance in our work together of being with whatever arises and learning and practicing new tools to help support change. Clients that are willing and able to do work in between sessions usually find that to be very helpful to their growth. Therapy is in part about behavior change, which comes down to neural networks needing to be rewired. This simply takes effort and discipline to create change.

Professionally, I base therapeutic work in attachment, arousal regulation, somatic/nervous system work, presence, and energy/intuition. I utilize both professional and personal experiences to inform my work with clients.

I am passionate about accompanying my clients on their journey, with much warmth, curiosity, courage and compassion. Personally, as a divorced parent, and mom to both a daughter that died and a living daughter, I understand that life can break us times. I also know that there is a depth of wellness and healing that can be found and created in connection and tuning into our inner knowing and intuition.

If it seems like we may be a good fit to work together, I look forward to hearing from you.
