As a child, I was struggling to cope with mental health issues. I had a therapist who changed my life by helping me manage my symptoms and accept that I was not defined by my diagnosis. This therapist gave me the opportunity to share my therapeutic journey with others, and in doing so inspired me to pursue a career in the mental health field. Since this transformative experience, I have wanted to create a lasting impact for others the way this therapist did for me. I am passionate about promoting growth and healing for my clients.
I primarily use an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach to help people identify their values in order to work toward a meaningful life. I believe that your values, or the things that are most important to you, will motivate your growth in therapy. I utilize mindfulness-based interventions in order to promote presence in the here and now. I also draw on CBT, DBT, and strengths-based approaches.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, snowshoeing, spending time with my cat, and making art by painting and drawing. I also enjoy attending shows and gardening.
