I previously taught for ten years in middle and high schools before completing my M.Ed in Clinician Mental Health Counseling at the College of William and Mary and becoming a therapist. It is a courageous step to seek therapy and it’s my goal to create a collaborative non-judgmental therapeutic relationship with clients and empower them to achieve balance, insight, and solutions. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing techniques to help individuals identify negative cycles that are affecting their lives, work to change those cycles, and promote health and wellness. My specialty areas include anxiety, adjustment issues, depression, grief and loss, and trauma. I am trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy techniques and have a passion for collaborating with clients to address phobias and OCD symptoms.
