Hi there! I’m Jessica (she/her/hers) I was born in Chicago and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois. Having my own struggles as an adolescent, I began receiving counseling at a young age. The compassion and guidance that I had been given has influenced my lifelong desire to support and empower others in their own healing journey. After graduating from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies, I moved to Colorado, eager for a fresh perspective.
Moving to the mountains, I quickly gained a passion for the outdoors. I worked in a variety of different mental health facilities including residential treatment centers, transitional housing, and outpatient clinics. Ultimately, my draw towards nature led me into the field of wilderness and outdoor-based therapy. It was here that I gained a passion for sustainable life skills, the value of community, and the healing power of sharing our stories with others.
The devastating loss of a family member led me to more deeply explore the mind-body connection and the impact that grief plays in our lives. I completed a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training through Kula Collective in 2018 and have since been deeply passionate in exploring somatic therapy.
I recently received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University in 2022. My theoretical orientation is grounded in a humanistic, person-centered approach as I believe in the innate wisdom that each individual holds. I use somatic and mindfulness modalities to promote self-exploration, awareness, and internal resourcing. In my free time, I enjoy playing ukulele, hiking, climbing, camping, traveling, and practicing yoga.
