Laurel Carter is a Licensed Somatic and Integrative Psychotherapist, Eating Disorder Therapist, and Trauma-Informed Eating Recovery Coach. She has been practicing psychotherapy for 15 years and specializes in trauma-informed care, working with female-identified individuals who desire to reclaim autonomy over their life, feel body sovereignty, find their voice, and live in their truth. Laurel uses an integrative and holistic approach in working with clients. She provides both traditional counseling approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and psychodrama, as well as somatic and body-based interventions.

Laurel approaches mental health challenges such as, but not limited to depression or anxiety, as a byproduct of the world we live in and not as a reflection of the core of the human she is working with. She practices from a bio-psycho-social model and believes in a framework of collaboration, steering clear of the dynamic of 'treatment' or seeing her clients through the lens of a diagnosis.
