Do you tend to laugh off your difficulties? Are you Neurospicy and enjoy calling it that? Do you feel like you might be too honest, direct, or raw for therapy? Did the impact of your late diagnosis of ADHD or Autism come as an astounding shock that rewrote your entire life history as you knew it? Did medication for the aforementioned neurospiciness disable the (sometimes "bad") coping skills that worked before you were diagnosed?
We might be a good fit, and I want to help. I bring a diverse lived experience to the table that includes jobs like working the deck on oceangoing tugboats, to programming, to working as an advocate in the child welfare system, and even technical support. I did a lot of things before I landed on being a counselor, and I love this work. I consider it an honor to have the privilege to be part of your journey. I understand that starting therapy is a hard decision, and I utilize humor and colorful language to make it not-so-painful to get started. I'm unconventional and don't think that therapy needs to be misery most of the time. The painful moments will come, and we'll let them, but for now we can be safe and enjoy the discovery.
My primary specialties are late-diagnosed ADHD and Autism, but I am well-versed in working with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, OCD, and Self-Esteem
