I'm a creative helper at my core, and I cannot imagine my life without the ability to love people and their journeys. I use an eclectic mix of EMDR, Trauma-Informed Art Therapy, IFS, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to help my LGBTQAI+ clients explore relationships, express truths, build esteem, and heal from shame and trauma.
My clients are badasses; they honor their present-moment experience, take to heart the prompts learned in sessions, engage in homework, and experiment with different perspectives and approaches. The majority of my adult clients, along with myself, are Queer, a multi-layered identity we utilize as a source of pride and strength. Client progress is an ongoing barometer of wellness that my clients and myself collaboratively define throughout our therapy journey together. My clients can expect my warm heart, my sharp mind, and my kind humor to help them actively engage in exercises, be led by curiosity and compassion, and have the freedom to curse liberally if they so choose!
I actively engage in training on trauma-informed care, including IFS, EMDR, KAP, and somatic therapies, ensuring that my competencies and growth are ongoing. Specifically, I'm refining my approaches to spiritual trauma, racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, and the various uses of artmaking and ketamine in trauma healing. It is fascinating and important work! I deeply value my professional relationships and commit to collaborating with them; this benefits my clients as they continue to receive diversified, creative, ethical, and collective wisdom.
The 30-some odd years of my life have already seen plenty of harrowing moments, queer-lived hardship, and major life transitions – all of which have shaped my core values. I believe that using ecological, cultural, spiritual, and neuroscientific frameworks with clients is what actively makes therapy competent and sensitive. My duty to clients is that their care is trauma-informed, based in compassion, and infused with the spirit of empowerment.
