I believe that we all have important stories to tell. Stories that we hold about ourselves, our relationships, and how we see the world around us. Sharing these stories and understanding the emotions and self beliefs tied to them can be important groundwork for self awareness and change.
I approach therapy from a person-centered and psychodynamic lens; I care about creating a safe and authentic relationship with each individual, and I view the therapy relationship as a place to learn, take risks, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I enjoy using EMDR to help people process trauma, and I like to integrate embodied practices like mindfulness and parts work to help people get more in touch with themselves and their internal world.
I believe that every individual is striving to feel better. Sometimes, the things we use to help us feel better can also impede us from getting what we want.Therapy can be a supportive space to make sense of these patterns and how they developed, and practice something different. With consistent support and willingness, I believe that people can learn to recognize their own resilience and trust their capacity for well-being.
