When working with True, you will notice an emphasis on a strengths-based process, trauma-informed perspective, and a tailored approach to meeting her clients where they are, and as they are. When appropriate and supportive, True utilizes expressive play and creative tools to assist in building rapport and in the therapeutic process. A priority of True's work is to build judgment-free therapeutic relationships where tearful moments are always welcome, and laughter is highly encouraged.
True specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, parent coaching, LGBTQ+ individuals, and neurodivergence across the lifespan. True also has a wealth of experience in women's issues, specifically related to grief/bereavement, empowerment, independence, and autonomy. Outside of mental health practices, settings True has also worked within include schools, hospitals, and non-profit organizations serving families in the foster care system and forcibly displaced populations.
True has a passion for supporting caregivers, and those who work with children and adolescents. This support can look as simple as validation and understanding, as well as providing education and tools in areas related to age/stage, unknown triggers, big emotions, gender identity, and beyond. True utilizes her more than 10 years of education and experience in human development, learning and behavioral challenges, ADHD and Autism spectrum symptoms, sensory struggles, school accommodations, and parenting practices to provide a holistic approach to a variety of concerns. True has a strong belief that when caregivers feel successful, kids feel successful.
Outside of work, True enjoys outdoor concerts, creating art with a variety of mediums, watching the clouds, singing with friends, acting in local theater, and finding the joy and laughter in life wherever they roam.
