Most people don’t end up on a therapist’s page because things are going great. More likely, you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or tired of pretending everything’s “fine.” If that’s you—you’re not alone, and you’re in the right place.
I’m Erik—a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience walking with people through:
- Grief and loss (including the kinds no one else seems to recognize)
- Trauma, betrayal, and major life transitions
- Relationships that feel distant, stuck, or like you're having the same conversation on repeat
Many of my clients are:
- High-functioning but worn out
- Deeply caring, but quietly unraveling
- Wondering how things got so heavy, and unsure how to lighten the load
You’re not broken. You’re human. And you’re likely carrying way more than one person should have to.
What It’s Like to Work with Me
Therapy with me isn’t about surface-level fixes or motivational quotes. It’s about creating space to actually feel, reflect, and heal. I offer:
- A grounded, calming presence (not a “fixer,” but a steady companion)
- EMDR and trauma-informed care to help process what’s been too much for too long
- Space to explore patterns, beliefs, and buried grief—at your pace
- The occasional bad metaphor, dry humor, and deep respect for your story
For Couples
- You still care about each other—but something feels off. I help couples who:
- Feel more like roommates than partners
- Are stuck in loops they can’t seem to break
- Want to reconnect, rebuild trust, or finally say what hasn’t been said
I offer extended sessions and multi-day intensives for couples ready to focus fully on their relationship. Sometimes, pressing pause is better than pushing through.
I work primarily online, with in-person sessions available in Palisade, Colorado for those wanting a retreat-style experience.
As a husband, father, and someone who’s walked through a variety of personal loss, I know healing isn’t linear—and it’s not about getting it “right.” My job is to walk alongside you as you begin to mend, reimagine, and move forward with intention.
You don’t need perfect words to start. If something in you says it’s time—that’s enough.
