Sometimes the behavior isn’t the problem—it’s the message.

Sometimes the problem isn't that you aren't trying hard enough. There may be something deeper driving the anxiety, behaviors, relationship struggles, or emotional shutdown—and you simply haven't had the space to understand what it is.

I believe meaningful change begins by looking beneath the surface. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or trying to change a behavior, I want to understand what that behavior may be communicating and what experiences, emotions, or patterns may be underneath it. Whether I’m working with a child, an adult, or a family, I believe feeling genuinely understood is an important part of creating meaningful change.

I view counseling as a collaborative process of discovery. My role is not to tell you who you should be or how you should live, but to offer a safe, supportive space where we can slow things down, make sense of what you're experiencing, recognize patterns, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and behavioral or emotional concerns.

With children and adolescents, I place particular importance on relationship and trust. Children don't always have the words to explain what they are feeling or why they are behaving a certain way. Sometimes behavior is the communication. I work to look beyond the behavior and understand what a child may be trying to express, while helping parents better understand and respond to their child's needs.

With adults, I work with people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or tired of repeating patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we can explore the experiences and beliefs that may be shaping the way you think, feel, cope, and relate to others.

My approach is relationship-focused and grounded in genuine connection. I bring an understanding of how difficult and painful experiences can shape the way we feel, cope, behave, and connect with others, along with practical strategies for creating healthier ways of thinking and responding, healthy coping skills, parenting strategies, and exploration of underlying issues. I believe therapy works best when you feel understood and supported, so I tailor the process to each individual and family rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Most importantly, I believe you deserve to feel genuinely understood, accepted, and supported as a whole person.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, counseling can be an opportunity to understand what is happening beneath the surface, create healthier patterns, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and manageable.

If you are looking for a counselor who will take the time to understand the whole picture rather than focusing only on the presenting problem, I invite you to reach out.
