Hello, I'm Tamara. I think of the issues that are dealt with in therapy as a passage - sometimes these things feel dark, narrow, and steep. When it gets hard to traverse, having someone with you can help. This is how I see our relationship: you take the steps, and I lend a guiding hand or a steadying grip through a dicey spot. Then, when you see the next logical step and get through the passage, you can continue on your journey.
My approach to therapy is foremost client-centered because I believe making a personal connection is the foundation for facilitating healing, allowing clients the safe space needed to tell their story. Considering the effect of therapy on clients' relationships is important because the work of therapy must also work in life outside our sessions. I work collaboratively with clients to uncover protective emotions and their goals for our time together to help uncover and process unresolved issues.
I have a particular passion for working with issues of grief and loss. I believe in a whole-person approach to therapy and life and strive to help my clients achieve balance and build resiliency in facing shame. I have been providing therapy since 2011, working with individuals, families, couples, and students in community mental health settings, education, and private practice environments.
If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I'm here to help guide you through it. Let's work together to find the balance and resilience you need to face life's challenges.
My current availability is at 11 am Friday mornings as of 12/5/25.
