Hi there, my name is Maria Gryparis (she/her). I was born and raised just outside Chicago and moved to Colorado in 2020 for graduate school. My husband and I fell in love with all things Colorado coming from the cold midwest, so much so we’ve made it our home. You can find us doing anything and everything in the mountains from quick runs to long walks and hikes!
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, bringing with them their unique personalities, experiences, desires, hurts, and hopes. My heart as a therapist is to be a secure person who welcomes and honors all parts of you, to walk alongside you in your hurts and hopes, and to empower you with the confidence and tools to carry with you through life.
With a warm, welcoming, and secure environment, we can explore, grow, and heal the many parts that make up you. My therapeutic approach is an eclectic one, pulling primarily from trauma-informed, person-centered, narrative, and attachment theories. I also utilize internal family systems and feminist theory in my approach, meaning I want to honor both the environmental context of your story and its many parts. I have worked with children as young as 6, adolescents, adults, couples, and families seeking support in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, eating disorders and body image, relational conflict and distress, life transitions, grief, and place-of-worship hurt. It is my honor to walk alongside you in this deep and rewarding work.
Professionally: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado (LPC.0021902). I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Health Sciences from Wheaton College.
