Right now you may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, and stuck. Your usual coping strategies aren't working, and you're not sure what to do. Whether you're having challenges in romantic or family relationships, or struggling with your career, work, or school, therapy is a powerful process that can give you helpful insights and practical tools to solve problems and empower your growth..
I believe in everyone's innate capacity for healing, clarity, connection, and joy. Despite inevitable hardships, you are the hero of your own story. Therapy is a lot about what you don't know you don't know, so the process, while daunting at first, can be exhilarating and productive in ways you can't imagine right now. As you start to make sense of things and reach your goals, you will find relief from distress and increased vitality, self-understanding, and effectiveness. It is my honor to support your healing journey in a safe comforting space, free of judgements, with empathy and humor.
As a licensed clinical social worker and psychological anthropologist, I take a person-centered, psychodynamic, and culturally sensitive approach to help you unpack where you're at, remove barriers, and create a life and relationships you love. I work with anxiety, depression, loss, trauma/PTSD, life transitions, and cultural issues. I draw on CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, attachment theory, narrative therapy, and mindfulness practices. I also have a passion for working with couples, and I have advanced training in EFT couples therapy (Externship and Core Skills) through the International Center for Excellence in Emotion Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
I earned a PhD in Psychological Anthropology from UCLA, a Master's in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Reaching out for therapy takes courage and thoughtfulness, so I am already impressed with you! Rest assured you can show up exactly as you are, and together we can figure out your path forward. I am accepting new clients, so please email or call me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if my services are right for you.
