Life is full of ups & downs. Sometimes the downs of life (stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, etc.) take over. Hurting or spraining your ankle is a physical health issue. Living with anxiety or going through a rough patch is a mental health issue. We all have them. Therapy with the right person can help.
I work with adults and children 13 & up, most who struggle with anxiety or depression. I support law enforcement, fire, first responders, EMS & other professionals who protect & serve. I have expertise in helping when work or school overshadows life; as well as when life overshadows all. We can work together to identify what you don't want & what you want or need. Together we can build hope and realize the benefits of talking, contemplating &/or taking action.
I am a real person with real struggles & triumphs. I think I'm funny, but you don't have to. And I'm dedicated to a genuine therapy relationship that helps you. I am skilled at therapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, social work/mental health consultant, & therapist with more than 20 years in the field. In therapy, I utilize my life, experiences with others, as well as my expertise in Motivational Interviewing (MI; I am a member of the MI Network of Trainers or MINT) & Traumatic Stress Studies (Trauma Informed Care), and other therapeutic tools. I understand the chaos of mental health issues, the difficulties of change, the struggles of parenting & divorce; & I have experienced the power of healing, the necessity of self-care & coping skills.
Finding the right therapist is important. Perhaps consider what you want to work on & why, as well as what kind of therapist personality suits you. If you think I might be a good fit, let's see. Together, we could make a great team toward a better today & brighter future.
