Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and that by working together we can help you move toward understanding and healing. Your job is to be curious about yourself. Mine is to guide and support you in exploring the unknown, uncomfortable, and unfamiliar.
I'm a therapist who is skilled at various things. Counseling. Teaching. Advocating. Communicating. Connecting with people. I'm adept at being honest and tactful simultaneously, warm as well as direct. I enjoy exploring multicultural nuances. I read between the lines, though prefer not to need to. I ask good questions. I don't mind looking foolish if I'm effective or am having fun. I strive to kindly challenge the way people think, and be challenged myself. I feel honored when asked to be present in challenging times, and work to balance holding room for discomfort while helping you discover how to move forward.
I have had significant professional experience in community mental health and university settings since 2010, and have been in private/group practice since 2019. I love the work that I get to do.
I see individual adults, couples, polycules, and families. These days I do a lot of clinical work with
-neurodivergent clients
-LGBTQ+ clients
-non-monogamous clients
-other therapists
-gifted and/or curious people
-people in academia, including researchers
-college students
-parents
-people with chronic illness
I particularly appreciate working with clients who come a broad variety of multicultural backgrounds..
