My focus is on helping you build a healthy relationship with yourself. This approach helps if you are feeling stuck in patterns that are not working for you, struggling with self criticism, experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, etc. I offer insight-oriented conversations, practices, and tools to help you find more balance and harmony from the inside out.
For those who are interested, I often teach mindfulness, acceptance and self compassion. This includes emphasis on developing clarity and insight about yourself while offering practical tools and practices. While we gain new direction and understanding, you will experience my gentle directness, willingness to be frank and accessible, and moments of laughter—yes, therapy can be productive and fun!
More about my background:
For over 22 years, I have worked with individuals and couples in both rural and urban settings with a variety of challenges. I have also participated in individual and couples counseling as a client on and off for decades. I found these experiences to be so life changing and inspiring that I felt drawn to help others. I have most recently been in private practice since 2017, and in my second marriage in a blended family with my partner, two stepchildren (ages 14 and 11), and my son (age 4). I was raised Catholic (no longer practicing) in East Tennessee in a suburb of the Smoky Mountain National Park, educated in the Northeast, and have lived in Colorado for over 15 years.
