Welcome! I help people who struggle with bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety stop the unrelenting cycle of ups and downs.
My clients struggle like you do. Despite trying so hard, life is tough and sometimes feels unbearable. When they first come to therapy, they are overwhelmed by their lives and feel stuck in their mood and thought cycles. The feeling that something is wrong with them, that they are forever cursed with an illness, is pervasive. Even in areas where they earn accolades, have success, and are loved and respected, it's overshadowed by the perception that they are not good enough or not doing enough.
But life does not have to be like that, and truly, there is hope.
I'll work with you to develop skills, plans, and routines to have more long-term stability. You'll begin to know, and to feel, more and more that your mood or anxiety disorder is not your fault, and there are things you can do to have more peace and balance in your life. Together, we'll help you feel calmer and more in control, building your confidence as you navigate anxiety, depression, and feelings of overwhelm. We may also delve deeper into the root causes of the challenges you are facing to help shift long-held patterns into new, healthier ones. I believe we all have innate wisdom that can guide us toward wellness — it's just a matter of peeling away the layers to access it.
I offer evidence-based therapies that directly treat mood and anxiety disorders, including traditional talk therapy, mind-body approaches, and creative arts therapy. I also provide ketamine-assisted therapy and psychedelic preparation and integration as specialized treatment options, especially for those who experience long-term depression that other medications don't really help with.
I hold a master's degree from California Institute of Integral Studies, with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy. I am also a certified yoga teacher, having taught for over 20 years. I hold certifications in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University.
Although I haven't walked in your shoes, I get your suffering. You've already shown courage--and taken initiative-- by exploring your options. Trust that instinct and reach out—better days are possible, and you are not alone.
