Hi, I'm Tyson!
The first thing you should know about me is my professional philosophy. I believe that whether it's individual, couple, family, or even group therapy, that therapy spaces are meant to generate newness. That may mean new insight, new acceptance, new healing, new skills, or new behaviors. You may be a good fit with me if you're ready for these kinds of changes. Stylistically, I strive to balance directness with kindness. I'm motivated to help you work through life's hurts and hang-ups, and I'm also committed to each person who comes through my office being treated with dignity and respect. My work in the field of addiction treatment has helped me refine my skills in identifying barriers to change, developing solutions, building skills, and bringing out the best versions of my clients, regardless of what issues they're facing.
I primarily work with couples and families who are facing challenges related to addiction, parenting, neurodivergence, and communication breakdowns. My goal is to help you identify what’s getting in the way of connection and change—and then actively work with you to build new skills, resolve conflict, and strengthen your relationships. That being said, I do work with individuals as well and can competently work with a wide variety of issues not specified here.
In my personal life, I am an avid hobbyist, spending time playing sports, baking, reading, writing poetry, playing guitar, and spending time in nature. I am a proud dad of a beautiful 3 year old son who is incredibly smart and charming. I strive to prioritize my values of family, personal growth, community, social justice, and spiritual principles every day.
I offer free 15 minute virtual consultations for those who are interested in working with me. If you're uncertain but interested, we can start there! I look forward to meeting!
