Hello and welcome! My name is Alisha Hubbell (she/her) and I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. I lived in Washington, D.C. for a number of years before visiting Colorado on a trip and realizing that I had found my new home. I have been here since 2008 and particularly enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and taking road trips to explore the west with my husband and two kids.
I graduated with my Master's degree in Counseling from George Washington University, having worked as a school counselor intern in D.C. area public schools. I completed additional coursework through Penn State University and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I spent 12 years providing evidence-based behavioral therapy to children on the autism spectrum at home, school, community, and center-based settings. My work as a behavioral therapist has given me insight into how our thoughts and feelings shape our actions and can evolve into patterns that either help or hinder us. Additionally, I have training in perinatal health through Postpartum Support International. I support clients through pre-conception, pregnancy and postpartum phases, reproduction challenges, and miscarriage.
My goal is to join with my clients to create a safe, non-judgmental space to help them move forward confidently toward helpful patterns. I have experience supporting clients who are working through symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, social skills deficits, and behavioral concerns. I use an integrative approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Professionally, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado (LPC.0018916). I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (1-08-4386).
