My name is Michele Flynn (she/her). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. (LPC. 0014745). I am also Board Certified in Neurofeedback (BCN E6197).
My name is Michele Flynn (she/her). I am a California native who came to Colorado for grad school, and fell in love with this state so much I have decided to stay a while. While there may not be any {real} beaches close by, I sure do love the rockies and 14er challenges. Starting in October – you will likely find me watching some hockey here or there- I was born and raised to bleed teal {Go Sharks!} and love most sports – even if I don’t fully understand all of them. And I’m always down for some time in the mountains or a good ole’ fashioned game night.
I know it can be hard watching your child struggle, especially when you don’t know how to help. It can make your world feel like it’s falling apart. Like you’re wading in the water trying to keep your head afloat. That’s why I’m here. I’m here to make the difficult days a little less difficult. To help understand and gain some insight into what’s going on. To walk alongside you and your child toward healing through counseling, therapeutic play techniques, and neurofeedback to help find their voice, identify and process BIG emotions, and move forward by growing and learning together through relationships. We cannot change our past choices AND we have the ability to change how we learn and react next time. Life is all about constant learning- from our past, present, and future selves. Each piece is important. Will it be perfect? No way. Can we learn from it? Absolutely. That is what life is all about- moving forward and learning together in relation to one another. I utilize research and brain-based interventions while working with kiddos, teens, and their families emphasizing their strengths and relationships to overcome difficult seasons, barriers, life circumstances, BIG emotions, and diagnoses (anxiety, depression, ADHD, “difficult behaviors”, as well as other mental health diagnoses), and learn new skills to regain “control” of life and all the struggles that come with it. Life is tough and it takes a village – and I want to be a part of yours! Allowing people into your village is sometimes scary, so please feel free to reach out and I would love to answer any questions you may have.
