I am bicultural (Swiss-American) and moved around often as a child, changing countries and primary languages three times before I was six years old. I believe that these early experiences navigating new contexts and forming new relationships ignited a curiosity about human connections and the beauty of human resilience. My reasons for learning the art of therapy have evolved throughout my career, but the healing power of relationships continues to be the foundation of why I do this work.
I believe that a safe, therapeutic relationship is one of the first building blocks of the healing process. In early sessions and throughout our work together, I work to create a space where you can be authentically yourself and we can explore your pain, hopes, values, and goals together. Although I have experience with brief individual and family therapy, I specialize in deep, holistic work that looks at the underbelly of mental health symptoms and their roots. I believe that deeper approaches to the work invite more sustainable progress and address patterns that are often barriers to implementing coping skills and lifestyle changes.
