Hi! While I'm originally from the midwest, I've called Colorado home for 13 years. I graduated from The University of Colorado Denver and have since gained experience in all kinds of mental health settings. I am especially passionate about helping clients feel more present and embodied- whether that is through examining their relationship with food and body image, the experience of pregnancy or postpartum, or understanding how trauma has changed their nervous system.
I love working with folks who want to examine their relationship with food and their body. I take a weight-inclusive approach to body image and eating disorder recovery, which means I don't focus on a person's weight as a measure of health or progress. Instead, I work with clients to build a more compassionate and accepting relationship with their bodies, regardless of size. My work is grounded in the principles of intuitive eating, helping people reconnect with their internal cues for hunger, fullness, and satisfaction, and move away from rigid food rules or diet culture.
I am EMDR trained and use somatic techniques to help clients feel more connected and grounded. I have special training in disordered eating, perinatal mental health, anxiety and trauma. I also draw from the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to increase emotional regulation and develop practical skills for everyday life.
You can expect to be seen, heard and challenged to think about yourself in new ways. I believe curiosity is the anecdote to shame. I will help you gain the tools to be curious about your feelings and past experiences to enjoy life more. I value connecting people to resources and community that aligns with their values because therapy is just a jumping off point for change!
