I strive with each person I work with to truly understand what changes they want/need in their lives, to be present and empathetic to their experiences, and to walk next to them as we explore what is needed to reach their desired goals. I believe that each person is the expert in their life and we work together to help understand their life experiences and how their experiences have shaped them as a person. I explore each person's strengths and what has helped them cope with the challenges of life so far, and work on building on these strengths. We also work to gain insight into the barriers that are preventing them from having the emotional health and relationships they desire and help them gain the skills to overcome these barriers.
Some individuals want to focus on the future to get to where they want to be utilizing solution focused therapy, others need to process and dive into their past to remove barriers or trauma that are preventing them from achieving their goals by using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), and others need a combination of both. Some individuals just need the space to process their emotions and experiences, and I provide this too.
I have been a solution focused therapist since 2000 and was trained and practicing EMDR since 2014 and became certified in June 2025. I lead with curiosity and in a nonjudgmental manner to explore what will be the best fit for you.
