Hi. Welcome.
I work with adults experiencing nervous system disregulation (anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, overwhelm, and burnout) and queer, trans, and gender expansive youth. My approach is somatic - combining the trauma informed tools and insights of body psychotherapy with the gentle holding of biodynamic craniosacral therapy to help you get out of your head and into your body. We will utilize awareness, breath, touch, and movement to explore and give voice to the underlying patterns and stuck material that can hold us back. And build a bodily sense of foundation you can rely on.
Don’t get me wrong, we will still talk. If you want we’ll break down each and every aspect of a situation, identifying any unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns. I'm ready for that. I can listen forever and I love details. But ultimately, getting caught up in thinking is probably what got you here in the first place. What is often needed is to just feel.
Working in this way offers more choice and freedom to move through life and utilize challenges to grow and expand into wellbeing. Finding the right match for this journey is such an important part of the therapy process. Please feel free to reach out (or check out my website: maxharlowsomatictherapy.com) with any questions or to set up a consultation to see if we are a good fit.
