People are capable of growing into their best selves through the deep reflection and connection that is built in therapy. I create a safe space for you to explore who you are and who you want to become, challenging you to take risks along your journey. Each person's journey is unique (and messy), which is why I love what I do - getting to learn about the intricacies of each individual is a joy and a privilege. My own journey in therapy has allowed me to discover things about myself that have surprised me and led me to live a more full, happy, messy life.
I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside you to move towards the type of healing you want to find. I am an EMDR-trained therapist, and I also use elements of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Motivational Interviewing - all through a person-centered approach. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Catholic University in 2018. Then I obtained a Master of Social Work from the University of New Hampshire in 2022. I have been practicing Social Work for 4 years, and have worked in several different settings including community mental health outpatient therapy, school-based therapy, crisis services, and residential treatment. When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking and camping with my dachshund, reading, listening to a good podcast, travelling, and trying out new recipes.
I specialize in working with youth and families, which informs my perspective when working with individual adults, as well. I believe that early childhood experiences within the family context inform who a person becomes, whether they want to or not. It is then up to the individual to look back on their own experiences and build the life they want from themselves, leaving behind the pieces they don't. I hope that we can work together to build something that gives you a sense of joy.
