Anastasia Mitchell is an independently contracted therapist at Forward Family Therapy. Anastasia is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist. She has been licensed since 2019 and has worked with a myriad of folks ranging from children to older adults. Anastasia began her career in mental health working for a community mental health agency with adults struggling with severe and persistent mental illness and trauma. Since this experience she has had the privilege of working with folks who have eating disorders, adverse experiences, as well as struggles related to intersections of identity (including but not limited to racial disparities, gender, and the LGBTQ+ community).
Anastasia is an Art Therapist as well as being trained in EMDR. She uses an eclectic approach when navigating mental health and recognizes the importance of a holistic and collaborative method. Anastasia values the therapeutic relationship and spends time getting to know her clients in order to effectively address concerns. Feeling safe and comfortable is significant and Anastasia works closely with clients and families to assist them in feeling empowered to face the hurdles that they bring to sessions.
