If you are in the beginning stages of your parenting journey with your partner, read on. You might either be preparing the nursery or already have little ones running around your home. You know that you want to create true connection and love with your partner as your family grows despite your kids tending to distract you from good self-care and relationship-care practices. If you understand that being PROactive rather than REactive is always a better route, you are my type of client.
As a mom myself, I get how much introducing kids into your family system can be overwhelming and exhausting at times. Not only are you getting fewer hours of sleep at night, but you are constantly needed by people who can't fully take care of themselves yet. Add a dash of miscommunication, a pinch of disconnection, a heap of poor self-care, and you have a recipe for disaster with your partner. I've been there. It sucks. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I've worked with countless couples over the years who found they drifted apart from each other during these early days and slowly found themselves closer to roommates rather than partners. I help these couples reconnect, nurture their relationship, and create the "Partnerhood" they desire. I use a variety of methods including (but not limited to) Gottman, EFT, DBT, solution-focused, humanistic, and narrative. My therapy approach is authentic - like a real person - not someone who knows everything.
I believe that YOU are the expert. I merely help guide you where you want to go. You do not get thrown in a one-size-fits-all box. I meet you where you're at and help you get where you want to go every step of the way. I gently challenge you (or kick your ass) when you need it and I try really hard not to ask you "how does that make you feel?". I offer reduced rates for a limited number of clients with lower household incomes because I believe therapy should be available and accessible for anyone - especially if they want to do the work. I accept people as they are and show compassion and kindness whenever possible.
