Welcome! Whether in my office or online, I hope to provide a peaceful, calming space where you can take a breath and slow down. There’s no need to prove anything. You’re welcome as you are.
Are you introspective and self-aware, but you don’t know how to take what you discover and use it to become the person you want to be? Let’s work together to identify patterns that keep you stuck. When you’re ready and if it’s relevant, we can face past emotional and relational wounds and work toward healing. You don’t have to keep overthinking and doing the same things that aren’t working. I like to help people address the emotions they feel in their bodies through mindfulness-based approaches, and I believe in the importance of learning skills to regulate emotions and reel in and reshape unhelpful, ruminating thoughts through Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches. I'm also influenced by parts work and self-compassion.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background as an ESL teacher and overseas worker. I've been working as a counselor for six years, and I can empathize with the toll that life change, transition, and grief can take. Sometimes you need a minute to catch your breath! I also work with people who struggle with anxiety, high stress, depression, relational difficulties, and low self-esteem. I use evidence-based approaches that promote healing, growth, and change.
I believe that faith and spirituality can be an important tool in your healing journey. It’s not required or necessary, and I let people choose whether to integrate it into their counseling and to what degree. If you have questions about the approach I take in integrating faith and spirituality, feel free to contact me to discuss this and any other questions you may have. If you are a Christian looking for a Christian counselor, I use a clinical counseling framework that is influenced by my Christian worldview, with the goal of being Gospel-centered.
If any of this sounds interesting or you think we might be a good fit to work together, please reach out to schedule a complimentary consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
