- Teletherapy/Virtual Sessions
- Colorado
Hi, I'm Jonathan.
I grew up outside of Aspen, Colorado. As soon as we were walking, we were skiing and exploring the wilderness. The outdoors remains the place where I find joy and peace, whether that's racing my gravel bike, back-country skiing in the Elk Mountains, or just sitting by Boulder Creek and taking a deep breath.
I came to being a therapist after long career in journalism, where I worked for NPR stations all across the country. I was able to interview some amazing people along the way who changed my life — Esther Perel, Michael Pollan, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and many others.
As much as I loved those years behind the microphone, I knew something was missing: being of service and connecting deeply with individuals in moments of transitions. I went back to school to study counseling psychology and instantly fell in love with being a therapist.
My work is very psychodynamic — which means we're going to work slowly as a team. I'm not here to write you a script of solutions, but to help facilitate your insights. I'm also drawn to a number of different practices like Internal Family System, in which we'll explore the many different "parts" of your psyche and identity.
I welcome clients of all backgrounds. I'm especially drawn to working with people in moments of loss and grief (broadly defined) — whether that be grieving a person who died, a relationship that ended, or part of your identity you are struggling to let go of.
I hope you'll reach out to see how it to feels connect. Let's explore how you can grow in our work together!
