Hi, I'm Jonathan.
I grew up outside of Aspen, Colorado and I came to being a therapist after a long career in journalism, where I worked for NPR stations all across the country. As much as I loved those years behind the microphone, I knew something was missing: being of service and connecting deeply with individuals in moments of transition. I went back to school to study counseling psychology and instantly fell in love with being a therapist.
I specialize in trauma and grief, while also working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and relational issues. I offer sessions to adults, teens, and couples, and work especially well with athletes and people in the outdoor industry. My work is very psychodynamic — which means we're going to work slowly as a team. I'm not here to write you a script of solutions, but to help facilitate your insights. I incorporate a number of different practices like somatic modalities and Internal Family Systems, in which we'll explore the many different "parts" of your psyche and identity.
Trauma and grief can create deep wounds, leaving us disconnected from ourselves. My goal is to help you practice slowing down, so you can witness ALL of yourself and start to feel more connected again. Let's explore how you can grow in our work together.
