Aaron brings both depth and heart to his work as a counselor. He earned his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Northern Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. In addition to his clinical work, he is a professor, coach, public speaker, and researcher, and he actively engages in experiential learning and social justice–focused work that continues to shape his approach.
Aaron’s counseling philosophy is grounded in the belief that healing happens through authentic human connection. He creates a space where clients feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood—especially during times when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. He deeply values each person’s story and believes meaningful change begins when people feel safe enough to explore it openly.
Prior to starting his journey with Hearts for Justice Counseling & Consulting, Aaron spent seventeen years working with clients from diverse background including counseling at-risk adults and juveniles across Colorado. He also has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, couples, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of life experiences.
Aaron views counseling as a collaborative process, working alongside clients to make sense of their experiences, identify patterns, and uncover strengths they may not yet recognize. He is passionate about helping people move through life’s challenges with resilience and purpose, often reflecting on the words of Muhammad Ali: “Service to others is the rent we pay for our room here on Earth.”
Ultimately, Aaron strives to ensure that those he works with feel less alone, more grounded, and empowered to move toward the life and relationships they want to build.
