Hi, I’m Earl Yarington, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and adjunct instructor at Indiana University East. I hold a PhD in Literature and Criticism with a focus on feminism, women writers, and writing composition. My academic work spans topics including nineteenth-century popular women writers, feminism, masculinity, digital media, sexual identities, and the intersections of childhood and sexuality. This scholarly background enhances my therapeutic work, particularly in helping clients navigate identity, self-expression, and the complexities of socially sensitive topics.
Clinically, I specialize in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive challenges, and concerns related to sexuality and paraphilia. My research interests include child sexual abuse, addiction, domestic abuse, sexual trauma, sex offending, virtual sexual behavior, paraphilic interests, and broader social justice advocacy. If you are struggling with taboo or intrusive OCD themes, such as Pedophilia OCD (POCD), my background allows me to approach these concerns with informed understanding, empathy, and without judgment, helping you find relief and clarity.
I use a range of therapeutic modalities, including Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention therapy (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and both play and talk therapy. I work especially well with middle school-aged children (ages 11–14) and adults, always tailoring treatment to meet each individual’s needs.
My work is rooted in empathy, respect, and inclusivity. I want you to feel heard, valued, and understood.
